Dear Maria Kleanthous PAET Welcome to our very last eBulletin for 2018. We are delighted to bring you news of upcoming professional development events and opportunities around the globe from 13 of our 16 Special Interest Groups, and we hope that you will find something relevant to your current needs and expectations in this edition of the eBulletin. At IATEFL we are looking forward to 2019 and working hard to make our work relevant and enriching to all our members. Already, we are happy to announce that we have secured some exciting discounts for you this end of year, so why not make the best of these by logging into the Member Area of our website. We are sure the Liverpool conference is at the top of your list for 2019, so we would like to encourage you to make the best of our early-bird rates – the deadline for registering is 10 January 2019. And if you are thinking of finding a new job and/or just developing your career further, our Jobs Market and Careers Fair are the perfect places to go. Find out more about these in the IATEFL Head Office News section below.
Have you already made up your mind about which SIG pre-conference event you want to be part of next year? Why not read the SIG sections in this eBulletin for updates on their respective PCEs as well as news of other upcoming professional development opportunities.
In the months of January and February, four of our SIGs – ReSIG, MaWSIG, ESOL SIG and TTEd SIG – will be running a number of webinars on a variety of ELT-related topics. There are also a number of collaborative face-to-face events coming up early next year involving some of our SIGs: for example, LAMSIG, BESIG and LTSIG will be running special strands at the IH Barcelona conference in February next year, while GISIG will be participating at the 2nd Annual Conference of The Hands Up Project. Outside Europe, the YLT SIG will be collaborating with the British Council at the Young Learner conference in Santiago, Chile.
Finally, we hope you will find the latest publications from BESIG and MaWSIG useful and even more, that you will seize every opportunity to contribute to IATEFL by joining one of our SIG committees in the months ahead.
With very best wishes from the Publications Committee,
